Packet pickup experience (Friday)

Packet pickup was mandatory unless you had VIP or paid for the bib-by-mail add-on. This part actually felt like its own mini-event, not an errand.

They had music playing, a photo booth for pictures, and sponsors in attendance handing out samples to help runners prep for race day.

Race-day schedule

  • 7:00 AM: VIP packet pickup opens
  • 8:00 AM: Bodalia
  • 8:50 AM: warm-up at the start line with Ladder
  • 9:00 AM: race start and festival opens
  • 10:00 AM: Coco & Breezy
  • 11:00 AM: Diplo

Festival rules that matter

These are the rules that can catch people off guard:

  • You can bring water before the race in a reusable container, but you need to finish it or dispose of the liquid before entering the festival grounds
  • No single-use plastic allowed inside.
  • There is a hydration station on the course.
  • ID check is available before the event and inside the festival. They recommend doing it before the run for quicker bar access.
  • One-time entry policy. Once you are in, you are in. No re-entry.

Getting to the starting line

They listed self-parking options at Miami Worldcenter; however, they strongly encouraged carpooling, public transit, or rideshare for a smoother arrival.

The run

The run itself was genuinely fun. There were around 7,000 people, and the crowd energy carried the whole course. They also had music along the course, which saved me because I forgot my headphones.

If you are doing this for the first time, you do not need to “race” it. Treat it like a moving party and enjoy the vibe.

Post-run concert

After medals (Miami Vice pink and blue, which I loved), the walk into the festival area felt like a victory lap.

They had Chiquita bananas and Splendor water being handed out to runners to refuel before entering the concert space at the park.

The park felt spacious, with plenty of food and drink options. And for me, the best part was the brand activations. Sponsors were giving out samples to keep runners energized during recovery, including Neuro (Focus mints or gum plus sleep and recharge tablets), Grüns, Altra, PROMIX, and more.

The music

Coco & Breezy set the tone with a strong post-run set that kept the crowd dancing. Then Diplo came out and kept it high energy the whole time.

The surprise moment was Diplo bringing out Hugel for a surprise B2B, which was a perfect closer to an already stacked morning.

Who this is for

  • Anyone who wants a healthier twist on a music event
  • People who love daytime events that end early enough to still have your night free
  • Groups who want a built-in shared activity plus a show

Tips if you are not a runner

You do not need to be a runner to enjoy this.

  • You can walk or speed-walk the 5K and still be part of the experience
  • They also had concert-only tickets if you want to skip the run and just do the show

Rating

10/10. It’s a unique concept that blends health, community, and a real concert experience without forcing you to be an elite runner.
