About Me
I am Luis, but I also go by Louey D. I am the friend who is always planning the next show, lining up the festival schedule, and finding a way to turn one night of music into a whole adventure.
More than anything, it is the music that makes me feel most alive. Festivals, clubs, rooftops, walks in the park, and cozy cafes with live music are just some of the different ways I get to experience it.

My first music festival was Warped Tour 2007. I went back again in 2008, and those early days in the crowd lit the spark.
Everything shifted in 2010 when I went to Ultra Music Festival for the first time. Since then I have gone to Ultra for 14 years in a row, and I am already planning my 15th year there in 2026. Ultra became a tradition and a rhythm that shows up again and again in my life.

From there the list grew:
- ARC Music Festival (2)
- Austin City Limits (2)
- Coachella (4)
- EDC Las Vegas (3)
- EDC Orlando (6)
- EDSea (3)
- Groove Cruise (1)
- iii Points (3)
- Mysteryland USA (1)
- Primavera Sound Madrid & Barcelona
- Tomorrowland (5)
- TomorrowWorld (2)
- We Belong Here Miami (3)
- Plus countless other festivals, intimate venues, rooftop shows, and unique locations where music was the main reason to be there
Over time, these festivals, shows, and music events stopped being just something fun to do. They started to shape my year, my friendships, and the places I chose to visit.
Who I am off the dance floor
When I am not in a crowd or on a dance floor, I am still the person who:
- Plans trips around experiences instead of checklists
- Loves turning a lineup, tour announcement, or show into a full travel plan
- Helps friends feel less stressed and more excited about big weekends and long trips
For years my life followed a more traditional path with a stable job and routines that looked good from the outside. Slowly, I started choosing more of what felt good on the inside. That meant saying yes to more music, more travel, and more moments that felt like me.
Right now, I am building a life and career that sit closer to the things I love most: music, travel, storytelling, and community.

What The Louey D Experience is
The Louey D Experience is where all of this comes together. It is my home for:
- The stories behind the festivals, shows, and music events I attend
- The trips I build around them
- The lessons, wins, and mistakes that happen along the way
I want this blog to feel like advice from a friend who has actually been there. Someone who will tell you what worked, what did not, what was worth it, and what you can skip.
